YorLoos acquires A64 Loo Hire
Yorkshire’s fast-growing portable toilet and wastewater management specialists, Berkache Services Ltd, trading as YorLoos, have acquired A64 Loo Hire — one of the region’s longest-established names in the sector.
The deal brings together two sets of brothers from two generations: David and Andrew Tagg, who established A64 Loo Hire in Huntington, York, in the 1970s, and Lotfi and Lyes Berkache, the entrepreneurial siblings who launched YorLoos just three years ago at the ages of 19 and 21.
A64 Loo Hire has been an industry trailblazer across the region. David and Andrew’s father was an early innovator in portable sanitation, helping to build the UK’s first steel portable toilets in the 1960s while serving as Managing Director of Porta-Silo.
Inspired by their father’s work, the Tagg brothers went on to establish A64 Loo Hire, which became a trusted supplier of portable toilets for construction projects, long-term contracts, and major events across the York region.
Now, they’re handing over the reins to the Berkache brothers. Under the agreement, Berkache Services Ltd (YorLoos) will take on A64’s full fleet, client contracts, and the option to retain some staff—ensuring continuity for customers. All existing units will remain deployed, with no disruption to supply or service.
For Lotfi and Lyes, the acquisition marks both a major milestone and a personal achievement. Since founding YorLoos in 2022, the Cropton-based pair have expanded rapidly across Yorkshire, building a formidable reputation for quick response times, high-quality equipment, and excellent customer service. Their success has been driven by a hands-on approach and a commitment to supporting clients across construction, events, and private hire.

The acquisition significantly increases YorLoos’ stock and service coverage, supporting its ambition to become one of Yorkshire’s leading names in portable sanitation and wastewater management. Just as importantly, it ensures the family-business ethos that has been central to both companies continues into the next generation.
Charles Hancock, Services Manager at Berkache Services Ltd, will play an important role in managing YorLoos’s long-term hire service and construction hire equipment, ensuring new and existing customers receive the company’s trademark high-quality service.
To ensure a smooth transition and maintain customer confidence, the business will trade for a period as “A64 Loo Hire – now part of YorLoos”, before fully adopting the YorLoos name once the change is well established among its customer base.
The expansion now cements YorLoos’s position at the heart of York’s portable toilet market and signals their ongoing commitment to delivering greater reliability and unrivalled customer care across the region.
